Dress for success

Your appearance in an interview plays a critical role with the first impression you are giving to a potential employer. The key is to dress conservatively, make sure your hair is well-groomed, have a nice smile and make eye contact throughout the interview process. Little things like covering tattoos, keeping fingernails clean and trimmed can get overlooked but definitely help with first impressions.

For Men:

  • Either pastel color or white shirt
  • A silk tie with a traditional pattern
  • Black shoes, well polished
  • Dark socks
  • Match belt with shoes
  • Clean shaven with a little sprinkle or dab of cologne/aftershave

For Women:

  • Conservative suits, try to avoid dresses
  • Light colored blouse
  • Shoes with conservative heels
  • Nail polish should be a neutral color
  • Keep makeup simple and natural
