The Accounting Technichian is a great entry level role that works in the Business Services Division in TABC Headquarters in Austin, TX. List of duties includes:
Reviews and compiles accounting receiving reports pertaining to agency purchases.
Files and maintains purchase order documentation.
Assist in the preparation of operating inventory reports.
May assist with reconciling agency automated system records with the State Property Accounting (SPA) system.
Assists with reconciling discrepancies of invoices and purchases; and reports findings.
May perform financial calculations such as amounts due, interest charges, and outstanding balances.
May assist with auditing and approving field receiving reports, invoices and similar records.
Advises staff on policies and procedures, and assists staff with special problems.
Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent supplemented by college coursework in accounting is preferred.
One year of experience in general office work, with an emphasis in accounting or bookkeeping principles or six months of state government accounting experience.
