SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Benefits Associate on a permanent basis (but potentially could be hired with a probationary period or as a Temp) to join a friendly team based in Long Island City (Queens), New York. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company benefit plans to include, but not limited to: Health and Welfare; Employee Leaves and 401(k)/Pension plans. You will provide excellent customer service to employees, HR, and a small retiree population.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee all aspects of Benefits Administration (Health & Welfare, 401K, a grand-fathered frozen pension plan, and voluntary benefits) for over 23,000 designated benefits eligible employees within the US
• Provide direction/support for employee leaves and disability related transactions to include, but not limited to, meeting with employee and coordinating, FMLA, STD, and additional time off with management, HR and payroll
• Maintain paperwork and files for employee’s benefits record
• Conduct Benefits Orientation for new acquisition groups as well as one on one meeting’s for executives

• Provide instruction to employee/HR regarding the online employee self-service system
• Liaison with the applicable insurance carriers to resolve employee/dependent issues/claims or to execute a haste enrollment.
• Assist with open enrollment meetings/presentations, travel when needed.
• Review ADP weekly changes report (IVR report). Request backup documentation when necessary for qualifying events (i.e., birth, marriage) and new hires. Manually update benefit deductions with payroll as needed
• Create and generate PeopleSoft queries as needed
• Responsible for HIPAA compliance
• Handle special projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s Degree or in Human Resources, Business or some related area
• 3+ year’s experience in Benefits Administration or Associates Degree and Min. 4 year’s experience
• Hands on experience with FMLA, STD, HIPPA Compliance, leaves ( time off), 401K is a must
• Prior role in large matrixed organization interfacing with several departments, vendors and employees desired
• Skilled in working with vendors and employees to resolve issues
• Excellent customer service and telephone skills
• Experience managing a variety of projects simultaneously and adapting to changing priorities while still meeting all deadlines and deliverables
Computer Equipment and Software Requirements:
• PeopleSoft Tools 8.9 or greater
• Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
• Vendor specific software applications (i.e. Fidelity - PSW, ADP - OBA, etc.)
• Former experience in advertising, media, branding or similar creative industry nice to have
